Joe the Plumber to become a war correspondent in Israel.
Well, given his previously expressed positions, I won't hold my breath as to what his slant will be. Nor will I be surprised when he shrugs at the fact that over 700 Palestinian civilians have been killed and about 2000 wounded so far.
So, here's the quickest way to launch your journalistic career: Be a jackass to one presidential candidate, jump into bed with the other candidate, fly the flag of "average Joes," parlay 15 minutes of fame into a country music deal, become war correspondent.
Only in America.
And on the subject of the ongoing conflict in Gaza: Do the rules of proportionality not apply to Israel, or does the Israeli government not get that the more people they kill and maim, the more pissed-off Palestinians will be willing to die killing Israelis? Self-defense is one thing, but this looks like self-destructive short-sightedness on the part of Israel. And if the Palestinians killed 700 Israelis and wounded 2000, what would the Israeli response to that be? Breaking out the nukes everyone knows that they have? Would U.S. reaction to those sort of Israeli casualties be the same general yawn we see now in the face of Palestinian suffering? I'm not anti-Israel at all, but it seems like Israel gets away with things no other country on Earth could.
